PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY CHOOSES ALLEN CARTON CODER LEADING TO HUGE INCREASE IN PRODUCTION EFFICIENCIES
When growing pharmaceutical development company, NuPharm Laboratories, began to experience an increase in business prompting a need for an
automated coding system, it turned to the UK’s leading manufacturer of hot foil, thermal transfer and laser coders, Allen Coding Systems (tel: 01707 379500;

And, after installing a 4ACC Carton Machine incorporating a 40/25 Compact Hot Foil Coder onto its production line, the result was a huge increase
in efficiency with around 1000 cartons now being labelled in just one hour, where previously it had taken a team of people a whole day. The machine has the capacity
to run up to 7,000 cartons per hour.
Co-owner and Director of NuPharm Laboratories, Will Gould, comments: "When we realised the need to install an automatic coding system to meet
the increased demand in our products, we went to Allen Coding as the UK’s industry leader, having first been introduced to its top-performing equipment at a trade show."
He continued: "We needed to ensure we chose a machine that would offer us both reliability and good quality printing. Not only did we find both
of these factors in the 4ACC and 40/25 machines, they were also easy to install and, after training from Allen Coding, simple to operate, too."
The Allen Coding equipment is being used in the Deeside, North Wales facility to apply batch codes and expiry dates to outer cartons for NuPharm’s
range of liquid pharmaceutical products.
The off-line machine, installed in a packaging room, has a maximum print area of up to 38mm x 25mm. Cartons are passed rapidly cross the tabletop
surface using the very effective pusher plate system, which positions each box under the 40/25 coder where it can be printed with the necessary batch codes and
dates before passing on to the outfeed system ready for collation.
